Privacy notice

Short version: we collect what we need to let you a house and nothing else. We do not sell your data, we do not advertise to you, and we do not track you around the internet.

Who we are

Skippers Retreat, Hamble-le-Rice, Hampshire. The data controller is the owner of the property. Contact stay@skippers-retreat.co.uk.

What we collect

• When you book — name, email, phone, dates, party size, and any notes you send us.
• When you pay — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• When you browse — anonymous, aggregated page statistics with no cookies and no individual tracking.

Why we collect it

To take and honour your booking, which is our contract with you; to comply with our tax and legal obligations; and, where you have asked for it, to send you occasional word of availability.

Who we share it with

• Stripe — to take payment.
• Our booking platform — to hold the reservation and manage the calendar.
• Our email provider — to send confirmations and pre-arrival information.
• Our accountant — for the tax return.

That is the whole list. We do not share your details with anyone else, and we never sell them.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records for seven years, because HMRC requires it. Enquiries that do not become bookings, twelve months. Mailing list, until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, which is why you have not been asked to dismiss a banner. Our analytics counts pages, not people.
