Arriving early?
You can drop luggage — just let us know

We greet every arrival in person, walk you through how the house works, and point you at the places we would go ourselves. Guests consistently say this is the best part of staying here, so we are not about to swap it for a key safe.

Needs your detail

Add the exact address, the best route in, and where guests should put the cars. Also worth stating how much notice you need on arrival time — a meet-and-greet only works if both sides know when.

The hot tub

Emptied, cleaned and refilled between every booking, and up to temperature before you arrive — so you can get in on your first afternoon. Robes are in the bedrooms and there is a shower on the way back in.

  • Please keep the cover on when you are not using it
  • No glass on the paving around it
  • Keep noise to a minimum, particularly late — sound carries here
  • Please supervise children closely at all times

Sailing kit & wet gear

There is a boot room with its own outside door, so wet sailing gear and waterproofs never come through the house. Drying rack, washing machine and dryer are all here too.

House rules

  • The house sleeps 8. Please do not exceed it.
  • No pets, sorry — including well-behaved ones.
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere inside.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum. It is a village, and we intend to stay welcome in it.

Bringing children

Families are very welcome — this is a house built for groups, and teenagers get their own room and their own bathroom, which tends to keep everyone civil.

We do ask that children are 12 or over, and it is not a rule we enjoy having. It comes down to the building: an open terrace above a drop, a spiral staircase, and a hot tub set flush into the paving. For older children it is a brilliant house. For a toddler it is three hazards in one afternoon, and we would rather say so honestly than have you worry for a week.

WiFi and working

High-speed broadband throughout, with a dedicated desk if a few days have to be stolen ones. The network name and password are on the card by the kettle.

Needs your detail

Add a phone number for genuine emergencies, plus the nearest walk-in centre and a plumber or electrician you trust. Guests very rarely need it, and are enormously reassured that it is there.
